Job summary

GFL Industries is hiring a Commercial Rear/Side Load Driver in Elgin, TX. You will safely collect waste and recyclables from commercial locations, operate rear/side-load vehicles, and ensure timely service along predefined routes.

You will perform inspections, report issues, maintain safety standards, and coordinate with supervisors to optimize routing. Strong CDL and at least one year of commercial driving are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is preferred.
• Must possess a Class 3 CDL.
• Minimum one year of commercial driving experience.
• Must be able to meet safety-sensitive criteria per company standards.
• Ability to safely drive the truck and operate equipment.

Responsibilities

• Operate a Commercial Waste / Recycling collection vehicle (rear/side-load).
• Load waste/recyclables into the vehicle and compact as needed.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections and complete reports.
• Identify and report mechanical issues to supervisor.
• Maintain route quality and safety at all times.
• Communicate with customers and follow safety regulations.
