Ampact's Reading Corps seeks dedicated Reading Tutors to work in local schools, delivering proven reading activities and coaching students daily. You’ll be trained and supported every step of the way.

Daily duties include tutoring pairs for 20 minutes, tracking progress with an on-site coach, and participating in ongoing coaching and training to improve your impact. Join a committed AmeriCorps team making a difference.

Qualifications

• Dependable with a history of good attendance.
• Able to follow instructions and make improvements based on feedback.
• Proficient in basic computer skills (email and online navigation).
• Fluent in English for speaking, reading, and writing.
• 18+ with a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident of the United States.
• Ability to complete a background check.

Responsibilities

• Be a caring adult focused on helping children thrive.
• Lead tutoring sessions and follow a schedule for consistent support.
• Track student progress and meet with the on-site coach regularly.
• Enter student scores in data software and monitor progress.
• Commit to growth through coaching and training.
• Share experiences with the community.
