Job summary
Ampact's Reading Corps is seeking Reading Tutors to serve in local schools, supporting students to become strong readers. Training is provided and you will coach students through structured, daily 20-minute reading sessions, guiding them back to class and preparing the next pair.
Roles run for the 2026-27 school year (August 2026–June 2027). You will track progress, work with an on-site coach, and participate in ongoing coaching and training to grow professionally.
Qualifications
- Fluent in English for speaking, reading and writing.
- Dependable with good attendance history.
- Able to follow instructions and improve based on feedback.
- Proficient in basic computer skills (email, online navigation).
- 18+ with a high school diploma or equivalent.
- U.S. citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident.
- Ability to successfully complete a background check.
Responsibilities
- Be a caring adult focused on helping children thrive.
- Lead tutoring sessions and follow a schedule for student support.
- Track student progress and meet with the school on-site coach.
- Enter student scores in data software and monitor progress.
- Commit to personal growth through coaching and training.
- Share experiences with the community.
