Job summary

IDEA Public Schools is hiring an Interventionist Teacher to work with small groups of students in reading and math, closing gaps through Direct Instruction and progress monitoring. This grant-funded role focuses on CSI interventions across multiple grade levels, with additional tutoring and campus-wide collaboration to improve outcomes.

Qualifications

• High level of content-area proficiency in Math and/or ELA as evidenced by teaching certification, field of study, or work-experience
• Education: Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year educational institution (required)
• Experience: Experience in a K-12 classroom setting (strongly preferred)
• Licenses or Certifications: State certification preferred but not required

Responsibilities

• Teach Critical Student Intervention (CSI) instruction in small groups for 3rd-8th grade students at risk in reading/math
• Teach district-approved interventions to Kinder-2nd grade as assigned
• Teach district-approved interventions to 9th-12th grade as assigned
• Coordinate with general education teachers to support student progress
• Implement state standards and IDEA curricula and assessments
• Deliver relevant content and grade-level curriculum
• Submit weekly lesson plans two weeks in advance
• Implement formal/informal assessments to track progress
• Communicate progress with students/families weekly
• Maintain behavior management aligned with campus initiatives
• Host tutoring sessions as needed
• Participate in regular meetings and after-school duties
