Job summary

Piedmont Airlines, Inc. in Virginia, Norfolk, seeks a Ramp Supervisor to manage the Ground Handling Department's operations, supervise staff, and ensure on-time performance. The role includes training, briefing, scheduling, and hands-on support to the Training Department.

Ideal candidates have strong organizational skills, conflict resolution abilities, and proficiency with Microsoft Office; aviation knowledge and experience with QIK or Sabre are a plus.

Qualifications

• Outstanding organizational skills and ability to multi-task.
• Ability to work independently, set and meet deadlines.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experience in aviation or ground handling is preferred.
• Ability to defuse conflicts and coach staff.

Responsibilities

• Provide oversight and on-the-job training for new hires and recurrent training.
• Conduct briefs and distribute training materials to mentors.
• Create and coordinate work schedules.
• Provide hands-on assistance to the Training Department and feedback to managers.
• Approve employees for release to duty after training completion.
• Coach staff and support career development.
• Ensure compliance with policies and culture; manage varied staff duties.
• Produce daily/weekly/monthly operational reports.
• Maximize station performance by adapting to changes and solving problems.
• Supervise and monitor staff to ensure on-time performance and quality service.
