Benesch is seeking a Railroad Track & Civil Review/Design Engineer for Public Projects to work with our Rail Services team. The role offers exposure to Class I, short line, and commuter rail projects, with tasks across design reviews, field inspections, and project coordination.

The ideal candidate has 2–5 years in railroad civil design or review, proficiency in MicroStation and InRoads/OpenRail Designer, and strong communication skills. Travel may be required.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of Civil Engineering design or plan review experience for railroad projects.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.).
• Experience using MicroStation and InRoads and/or OpenRail Designer.
• Strong organizational and communication skills; ability to explain complex concepts to engineers, clients and stakeholders.
• Willing to travel occasionally for project demands.

Responsabilités

• Work on behalf of Railroad Clients to protect ROW and operations and to assist in delivering successful projects.
• Provide constructive design reviews and review comments to progress projects.
• Help meet project deadlines on schedule and within budget.
• Review design plans and coordinate with Project Managers and Design Engineers.
• Complete project design plans and collaborate with Project Managers and Engineers.
• Perform field inspections and provide client reports.
