Job summary

Benesch is seeking a Railroad Track & Civil Review/Design Engineer for Public Projects. You will collaborate with Project Managers, Engineers, and Technicians to deliver rail design and review services for freight, short line, and commuter rail projects, including field inspections and plan reviews.

The ideal candidate has 2–5 years of Civil Engineering design or review experience, is proficient with MicroStation and InRoads/OpenRail, and communicates effectively with stakeholders.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of Civil Engineering design or plan review experience for railroad projects.
• Proficient inMicrosoft Office products (Word, Excel etc.).
• Experience usingMicroStation and Inroads and/or OpenRail designer.
• Excellent organizational & communication skills to communicate complex technical concepts to engineers, clients, and public stakeholders.
• Ability to build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Willingness to travel occasionally.

Responsibilities

• Work on railroad projects for clients to protect their ROW and operations.
• Provide constructive designs and review comments to progress projects.
• Help meet project deadlines on schedule and within budget.
• Review design plans with Project Managers and Design Engineers.
• Complete project design plans with Project Managers and Project Engineers.
• Perform field inspections and provide reports for the client.
