Job summary

Benesch is seeking a Railroad Track & Civil Review/Design Engineer for its Public Projects Civil/Track Design Review team. You will work with project managers, engineers, and technicians on Class I, short line, and commuter rail projects, contributing to plan reviews and field inspections.

The ideal candidate has 2–5 years of railroad design or plan review experience and proficiency with MicroStation, InRoads, or OpenRail Designer, and possesses strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of Civil Engineering design or plan review experience for railroad projects or a degree in Civil or Railroad Engineering.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel etc.).
• Experience using MicroStation and InRoads and/or OpenRail Designer.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills to convey complex technical concepts to engineers, clients, and public stakeholders.
• Willing to travel occasionally to meet project demands.

Responsibilities

• Participate in Public Project Plan reviews and design projects.
• Perform site inspections and develop or review track and civil design plans, specifications, and cost estimates.
• Conduct field inspections and generate reports for the client.
