Job summary

Benesch is seeking a Railroad Track & Civil Review/Design Engineer for Public Projects. You will join a growing team within the Railroad Services group, handling track design reviews, field inspections, and collaborative project work for freight and commuter railroad clients.

The hybrid schedule allows work from multiple locations, including Atlanta, GA, with opportunities to contribute to design plans and project reviews while collaborating with project managers and engineers.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of Civil Engineering design or plan review experience for railroad projects.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
• Experience using MicroStation and InRoads and/or OpenRail Designer.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills to convey complex technical concepts to engineers, clients, and stakeholders.
• Willing to travel occasionally to meet project demands.

Responsibilities

• Support railroad project plan reviews and design projects.
• Participate in field inspections and prepare reports for clients.
• Develop or review track and civil design plans, specifications, and cost estimates.
• Collaborate with Project Managers, Engineers, and Technicians to deliver services for rail projects.
• Assist in meeting project deadlines within budget.
• Assist in reviewing design plans and providing constructive design comments.
