Job summary

Benesch seeks a Railroad Track & Civil Review/Design Engineer for Public Projects to join a growing Rail Services group. You will engage with Project Managers, Engineers, and Technicians on a variety of freight and commuter rail projects, reviewing plans and conducting site inspections.

The role requires 2–5 years in railroad civil design/review and proficiency with MicroStation and InRoads/OpenRail Designer, plus travel as needed.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of Civil Engineering design or plan review experience for railroad projects.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, etc.).
• Experience using MicroStation and InRoads and/or OpenRail Designer.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills to convey complex concepts.
• You enjoy building relationships with stakeholders and problem-solving.

Responsibilities

• Participate in Public Project Plan reviews and design projects.
• Perform field inspections and help develop track and civil design plans and cost estimates.
• Review design plans and coordinate with Project Managers and Design Engineers.
• Assist in completing project design plans and inspections for client reports.
