Job summary
Alfred Benesch & Company is seeking a Railroad Track & Civil Review/Design Engineer for Public Projects. The role involves working within the Railroad Services group on a variety of freight and commuter rail projects, participating in plan reviews, design development, and field inspections, and collaborating with project managers and engineers.
The ideal candidate has 2–5 years of civil engineering design or plan review experience for railroad projects, proficiency with MicroStation and InRoads
Qualifications
- 2-5 years of Civil Engineering design or plan review experience for railroad projects or have a degree in Civil or Railroad Engineering.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel etc.).
- Experience using MicroStation and Inroads and/or OpenRail designer.
- Excellent organizational & communication skills to communicate complex technical concepts to engineers, clients, and public stakeholders.
- Willing to accept occasional out-of-town travel to meet project demands.
Responsibilities
- Participate in Public Project Plan reviews, design projects and performing site inspections.
- Develop or review track and civil design plans, specifications, and cost estimates; conduct field inspections.
- Work closely with Project Managers, Engineers, and Technicians to deliver services for railroad projects.
- Complete project design plans and work with Project Managers and Project Engineers.
