Alfred Benesch & Company seeks a Railroad Track & Civil Review/Design Engineer for Public Projects. Work with PMs, engineers, and technicians on Class I, short line, and commuter rail projects, delivering track and civil designs, reviews, and field inspections.

The role requires 2–5 years of railroad design or plan review, proficiency with MicroStation/InRoads/OpenRail Designer, and strong organizational and communication skills. Hybrid schedule; multiple U.S.

Qualifications

• 2-5 years of Civil Engineering design or plan review experience for railroad projects or a degree in Civil or Railroad Engineering.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.).
• Experience using MicroStation and InRoads and/or OpenRail Designer.
• Excellent organizational & communication skills to convey complex technical concepts to engineers, clients, and public stakeholders.
• Ability to build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Desire to problem-solve and learn new technical skills.
• Willingness to travel occasionally out of town to meet project demands.

Responsabilités

• Participate in Public Project Plan reviews, design projects and perform site inspections.
• Develop or review track and civil design plans, specifications, and cost estimates; conduct field inspections.
• Collaborate with Project Managers, Engineers and Technicians to deliver services for rail projects.
• Assist in reviewing design plans and provide constructive review comments.
• Support in delivering projects on schedule and within budget.
