Job summary

Watco Transloading is seeking a Track Laborer to inspect, repair, and maintain railroad track infrastructure at our Wallula, WA site. Starting pay is $22.00 per hour, with on-the-job training and opportunities to advance within Watco’s network of rail operations.

The role involves manual labor, operating equipment like a backhoe and track hoe, and strictly adhering to safety rules and procedures during the introductory period and beyond.

Qualifications

• Must pass Track Ground School and FRA GCR written test.
• Roadway Worker Protection and Fall Protection tests required.
• MSHA/OSHA training and certification may be required on site.
• Must be 18+ with High School or GED.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, repair and maintain track infrastructure for safe service.
• Assist with loading/unloading rail components and related tasks.
• Assist with inspection and repair of switches, turnouts and track components.
• Report findings promptly and read safety rules and manuals.
• Operate equipment such as backhoe and track hoe.
• Follow safety policies and meet performance deadlines.
