Watco is hiring a Track Laborer to safely inspect, repair, and maintain railroad track infrastructure, supporting customers with dependable service. This manual labor role emphasizes accuracy, safety, and adherence to regulations as you gain proficiency during an introductory period.

The position requires passing required safety and operating trainings and performing diverse tasks related to track components, switches, and associated infrastructure on site.

Qualifications

• Must be able to pass and/or obtain all reporting, testing, and certifications as required for this position.
• Must be able to pass the following training courses: Track Ground School; FRA General Code of Operating Rules written test; Roadway Worker Protection written test; Fall Protection written test; Maintenance of Way safety written test; MSHA/OSHA training and certification (if required on site).

Responsibilities

• Inspect, repair, and maintain railroad track infrastructure.
• Assist with inspecting, loading and unloading rail and track components.
• Assist with inspection, maintenance, repair and construction of track turnouts and infrastructure.
• Inspect and maintain road crossings, bridges, culverts, tunnels, and related facilities.
• Read gauges and maintenance manuals; follow safety rules and procedures.
• Operate equipment such as backhoe and track hoe.
