Job summary

Watco in Great Bend, KS is seeking a Track Laborer to inspect, repair, and maintain railroad track infrastructure. This is a manual labor role that requires safety-focused learning through a structured training period.

You will assist with track components and maintenance tasks, adhere to safety rules, read instructions, and work with teams to ensure reliable service for customers in the region.

Qualifications

• Must pass and obtain all required training and certifications.
• Must possess a valid driver's license.
• Class A CDL preferred.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, load/unload, distribute and install rail and track components such as ties, ballast and rails.
• Inspect, grind, fabricate and repair rail and track components.
• Inspect, maintain, repair and construct track turnouts, switches and infrastructure.
• Inspect and maintain road crossings, bridges and tunnels and related facilities.
• Cut and dispose of vegetation using tools and manual labor.
• Clean ice, snow, dirt and debris from switches.
• Read gauges and maintenance manuals accurately.
• Operate equipment such as backhoe and track hoe.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
