Job summary

Watco is hiring a Track Laborer to safely inspect, repair, and maintain railroad track infrastructure. This manual labor role requires learning track operations during a prescribed training period and performing duties with accuracy and safety.

CDL is preferred, a valid driver’s license is required, and candidates must be 18+ with a HS/GED. Responsibilities include inspecting and handling rail components, maintaining track surfaces, and ensuring compliance with safety rules.

Qualifications

• Must possess a valid driver's license.
• Class A CDL preferred.
• Must be able to pass required training and certifications.
• Must be 18 years of age or older with HS or GED.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, repair, and maintain rail track infrastructure.
• Assist with loading/unloading rail and track components.
• Support inspection, grinding, fabrication, and repair of rail components.
• Maintain track turnouts, switches, and roadbeds.
• Inspect and maintain crossings, bridges, culverts, and related facilities.
• Read gauges, schematics, and maintenance manuals accurately.
• Operate equipment such as backhoe and track hoe.
• Follow safety policies and report incidents promptly.
