Job summary

Watco seeks a Track Laborer to inspect, repair, and maintain railroad track infrastructure to ensure safe service for customers. This is a manual labor role with training during an introductory period.

Starting hourly pay rate is $22.00. The position requires passing safety training and certifications, reading gauges, and operating equipment such as backhoes to support track infrastructure maintenance.

Qualifications

• Must possess a valid driver’s license.
• CDL Class A is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, repair, and maintain track infrastructure.
• Inspect, load/unload, and install rail components.
• Inspect and repair track turnouts and switches.
• Maintain road crossings, bridges, and tunnels.
• Read gauges and maintenance manuals.
• Operate equipment like backhoe and track hoe.
• Report accurately and timely.
• Follow safety rules and regulations.
• Respond to accidents or emergencies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
