Job summary

Watco is hiring a Track Laborer in Idaho Falls, ID. The role involves inspecting, repairing, and maintaining railroad track infrastructure to ensure safe and efficient service for customers.

The position is a hands-on labor role with a prescribed training period. Benefits include on-the-job training, development programs, and competitive compensation. Must pass required safety and operating tests.

Qualifications

• Must be able to pass and/or obtain all required reporting, testing, and certifications for this position.
• Must pass the following training courses: Track Ground School, FRA General Code of Operating Rules written test, Roadway Worker Protection written test, Fall Protection written test, Maintenance of Way safety written test, MSHA/OSHA training and certification (if required on site).

Responsibilities

• Inspect, repair, and maintain railroad track infrastructure to ensure safe service.
• Assist with inspecting, loading and unloading rail and track components; assist in grinding, fabrication, and repair of rail parts.
• Assist with inspection and maintenance of track turnouts, switch stands, and track infrastructure.
• Assist with maintenance of road crossings, bridges, and tunnels; manage vegetation removal.
• Read gauges, schematics, and maintenance manuals; comply with safety rules and regulations.
