Job summary

Canadian Pacific Railway is seeking a Trainmaster to manage yard and road operations in Pittsburg, KS. You will coordinate daily operating plans, supervise Train & Engine staff, and uphold a culture of safety while driving efficiency and cost-effectiveness across the terminal.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, railroad conductor experience, a valid driver’s license, and 2+ years of supervisory work in logistics.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Previous railway experience as a conductor is required.
• Valid driver’s license.
• 2+ years’ supervisory experience in logistics or an operational environment is an asset.
• Able to work nights, weekends, holidays in all weather.
• Strong communication and leadership abilities.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with internal and external partners to enhance yard and road fluidity to achieve LOSP and OP.
• Oversee all train movements within the yard and mainline with safe, accurate execution of LOSP and OP.
• Accountable for safety, service, productivity and financial metrics for the terminal.
• Lead safety compliance within the terminal and provide corrective actions as needed.
• Handle investigations and recommend corrective action plans per policies and CBAs.
• Conduct efficiency tests, train rides and safety activities to support a safe operation; may attend derailments/incidents.
