Job summary

Canadian Pacific Kansas City in DeQueen, Arkansas, seeks a Trainmaster to oversee yard and road operations, coordinating the daily plan to keep traffic moving safely and cost‑effectively. You will lead by example, build a strong safety culture, and coach Train & Engine crews across shifts, ensuring LOSP and OP execution.

The role requires prior railway supervision, the ability to investigate and resolve issues, and excellent radio and written communication.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Previous railway experience as a conductor required.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• 2+ years supervisory experience in logistics or operations is an asset.
• Able to work nights, weekends and holidays in all weather conditions.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient in MS Office (Outlook/Word/Excel).

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with partners to enhance yard and road fluidity to achieve LOSP and OP.
• Oversee all train movements within yard and mainline ensuring safe execution.
• Accountable for safety, service, productivity and financial metrics for the terminal.
• Lead safety compliance and provide corrective actions as needed.
• Conduct investigations and recommend corrective actions.
• Operate trains occasionally and maintain required certifications.
• Manage inventory for terminals and line of road.
• Coach and mentor Train & Engine employees.
