Job summary

Canadian Pacific Kansas City is seeking a Trainmaster to direct the efficient movement of traffic within yard and road operations, ensuring a safe, cost-effective plan. You will lead by example, coach Train & Engine staff, and maintain essential certifications across Canada/US contexts.

The role requires supervisory experience in logistics, strong communication, and a commitment to safety culture across terminals and rail lines.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 2+ years' supervisory experience in logistics or operations is an asset.
• Valid driver's license is required.
• Read and understand safety instructions and operating rules in English.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with internal and external partners to enhance yard and road fluidity to achieve LOSP and OP.
• Oversee train movements within yard and mainline, ensuring safe, tactical execution of LOSP/OP.
• Accountable for safety, service, productivity and financial metrics for the terminal.
• Lead safety compliance and provide corrective actions to uphold standards.
• Conduct investigations and recommend corrective action plans.
• Perform efficiency tests, train rides and safety activities to support safe operations.
• Inventory management for terminals and lines of road.
• Coach and mentor Train & Engine employees.
• Occasionally operate trains; maintain CROR/GCOR certifications as applicable.
