Job summary

Canadian Pacific Kansas City (CPKC) is seeking a Trainmaster to ensure safe, efficient movement of traffic within the yard and road territory by developing and executing the daily operating plan. You will coach Train & Engine crews, oversee LOSP/OP adherence, and drive safety and performance metrics across the terminal.

The role requires railway conductor experience, leadership presence, and strong communication skills; knowledge of CROR/GCOR would be beneficial.

Qualifications

• Railway conductor experience required; locomotive engineer is an asset.
• Strong safety culture and leadership abilities.
• Proficient in MS Office; able to use radios and communicate clearly.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily yard-terminal/road operating plans to LOSP and OP.
• Oversee train movements with safety and efficiency under LOSP/OP.
• Manage safety, service, productivity and financial metrics for the terminal.
• Lead safety compliance and corrective actions; promote safety culture.
• Conduct investigations per policies and bargaining agreement; propose corrective actions.
• Support derailments/incidents/injuries when on duty and perform safety tests as needed.
• Oversee inventory for terminals and lines within area; mentor Train & Engine staff.
