Job summary

Siemens Mobility is hiring a Field Service Technician in St. Louis to support the Charger locomotive fleet. You will coordinate and implement service and maintenance activities, train customer personnel, and advise on maintenance techniques.

The role requires troubleshooting electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic systems, and working with 3rd party vendors. A technical degree or equivalent experience is essential, with travel ~10% and occasional training in Chicago.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in electrical technology or other technical discipline, or minimum 2+ years of electrical/mechanical manufacturing experience.
• Experience troubleshooting Electrical (AC/DC), Mechanical, and Pneumatic systems.
• Excellently demonstrated English language technical communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide a positive customer service experience by establishing rapport with customer management and maintenance facility personnel.
• Deliver high-quality technical advice to improve equipment reliability of the Charger fleet.
• Respond quickly to troubleshooting and repair service requests.
• Provide ongoing system operation training for customers.
• Identify non-conformance issues and offer improvement recommendations.
• Assist local customer staff in assigned troubleshooting and repair work.
• Maintain clear communication between customer, Rail Support Center, and field team.
• Provide feedback on performance, quality, and efficiency to the team.
• Coordinate with 3rd party vendors like Cummins for locomotive components.
• Progress customers' maintenance practices to support Charger locomotives as per manual.
