Job summary

Siemens Mobility is seeking a Field Service Technician in Washington, DC to help keep Amtrak’s ACS‑64 fleet running safely and reliably. You will advise on maintenance and repairs, handle tasking from the CMMS, and support a rotating schedule including weekends and overtime as needed.

You will read schematics, troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic systems, and communicate clearly with operations staff. Proficiency in MS Office and a willingness to travel 10% are required.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in engineering or at least 2 years of experience in industrial/military/maintenance environment.
• Hands-on experience troubleshooting electrical AC/DC circuits, mechanical systems, and pneumatic systems.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, drawings, and technical documentation.
• Excellent English-language technical communication skills (speaking, reading, writing).
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint).
• Travel up to 10%.

Responsibilities

• Follow safety rules and maintain a safety-first culture on site.
• Perform maintenance in line with Siemens quality standards and instructions.
• Support scheduled and unscheduled locomotive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs.
• Provide first-line technical assistance to operations and maintenance staff.
• Use CMMS to follow maintenance instructions, document defects, track incidents, and close issues.
• Complete material transactions to support fleet maintenance when Stores Keeper Controllers are unavailable.
• Build strong relationships with the customer and represent Siemens Mobility professionally.
• Partner with site leadership on operations and facility-related needs.
