Job summary

Siemens Mobility in Washington DC is seeking a Field Service Technician to keep Amtrak’s ACS-64 locomotive fleet running safely and efficiently by providing on-site technical guidance and support to the maintenance workforce.

You will handle routine maintenance, troubleshooting of electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic systems, use CMMS for work orders, and collaborate with site leadership while willing to work a rotating schedule and overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in an engineering subject area or 2+ years of maintenance experience.
• Hands-on troubleshooting of electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic systems.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and drawings.
• Strong English technical communication skills (speaking, reading, writing).
• Proficiency with MS Office applications and CMMS usage.
• Willingness to travel up to 10%.

Responsibilities

• Follow safety rules and maintain a zero-harm culture on site.
• Support scheduled and unscheduled locomotive maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Provide first-line technical assistance to operations and maintenance staff.
• Use CMMS to document defects, track incidents, and assist issue closure.
• Build professional relationships with the customer and Siemens Mobility team.
• Work with site leadership on operational needs and facility activities.
