Job summary

Siemens Mobility in Boston, MA is seeking a Field Service Technician to support Amtrak Fleet maintenance. You will troubleshoot, repair, and service locomotives, working with CMMS and customer staff to keep trains running safely and reliably.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree in engineering or 2+ years in industrial/maintenance environment.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in an industrial or maintenance environment with electrical work.
  • Hands-on troubleshooting of electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic systems.
  • Ability to read/read electrical and pneumatic schematics and technical docs.
  • Strong English technical communication skills (spoken and written).
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint).
  • Willingness to travel up to 10%.

Responsibilities

  • Support locomotive maintenance activities using CMMS instructions.
  • Assist with electrical/mechanical troubleshooting repairs on locomotives.
  • Follow maintenance instructions to ensure quality and compliance.
  • Build a professional relationship with the customer on site.
  • Document defects, tasks, and incidents in CMMS for tracking.
  • Provide first-line technical support to operations staff.
  • Maintain safety compliance and Siemens quality standards.
  • Promote safety culture for self and teammates.
  • Communicate site issues to leadership as needed.
