UMass Memorial Health is seeking a non-exempt administrative professional to support ambulatory and outpatient services. You will greet patients, verify demographics and insurance, collect co-pays, obtain consent, and coordinate tests and appointments with clinicians.

Responsibilities include managing referrals, ensuring eligibility, and maintaining accurate records while supporting clinicians and billing staff in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma is required.
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• 3 years of related experience; waiver if candidate has an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree.
• Ability to use specialized applications software and computer systems.

Responsabilités

• Greets visitors and patients for scheduled and urgent care appointments.
• Confirms and verifies patient demographic and insurance information.
• May collect co-payments from patients upon arrival.
• Obtains signatures of consent for treatment authorization and insurance/billing information.
• Schedules urgent care appointments and coordinates tests and procedures.
• Prioritizes appointments to optimize patient care and resource use.
• Collaborates with insurers to obtain prior-authorizations as needed.
• Verifies eligibility for procedures or tests across institutions.
• Maintains accurate and timely records, logs, and files.
• Performs a variety of related administrative and clerical duties.
