Job summary

HCLTech is seeking an IT support professional in Dearborn, MI to maintain and troubleshoot high-end Dell rack PCs, support specialized research and engineering apps, and manage remote-access inventories. The role involves setting up new rack-mounted systems, reimaging, and collaborating with IT teams to resolve issues.

Candidates should have strong customer service, desktop hardware troubleshooting, basic networking, and Excel/SharePoint skills.

Qualifications

Professional demeanor and strong customer service/consulting/training skills.
Experience troubleshooting/repairing desktop and laptop hardware in the field or related area.
Basic understanding of networks, Intel servers and telecoms.
Strong break/fix skills for desktops, workstations, and notebooks.
Strong SharePoint and Excel skills (formulas).
Excellent written and verbal communication.
Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
Detail- and process-oriented.
Must pass background security check.
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

Provide hardware and software support for existing high-end rack-mounted Dell PCs.
Support specialty research and engineering applications.
Maintain database of remotely accessed PCs and rack-mounted systems.
Set up new rack-mounted PCs as needed.
Reimage systems as required.
Collaborate with other IT teams to ensure resolution and identify root causes.
Coordinate support activities with team members.
Provide equipment move services.
Ensure configuration and inventory management database accuracy.
Provide time/resource estimates for tasks including time tracking.
Travel locally as needed.
Perform other duties as assigned.
