Qualifications

• Six months of customer service experience.
• Basic computer skills for word processing and data entry.
• Professional manner and strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to protect privacy, confidentiality, and PHI of patients, members, and caregivers.
• Preferred: one year of customer service experience and EMR experience.

Responsibilities

• Provides courteous and professional connections with patients over the phone, in person or via secure messaging.
• Documents all phone calls accurately and completely in the EMR.
• Schedules patient appointments for visits, procedures, diagnostic tests, referrals, and/or consultations.
• Registers patients over the phone or in person by confirming and updating demographic data in the registration system.
• Obtains copies of insurance cards and signatures; verifies information for insurance coordination of benefits and pre-certification when needed.
• Assists patients in completing forms to meet regulatory and billing needs and educates on financial assistance; processes payments.
• Stays current on role responsibilities by reviewing communications and dashboards to maintain high performance.
