Job summary

Intermountain Health is seeking a Patient Service Representative to be the initial contact for patients, delivering exceptional customer/patient service. You will greet patients, check them in/out, verify data, and guide them through the intake process.

The role includes documenting interactions in the EMR, scheduling tests and visits, and assisting with insurance validation and billing forms. Strong communication, privacy protection, and teamwork are essential to ensure a high level of patient

Qualifications

• Six months of customer service experience.
• Basic computer skills with word processing and data entry.
• Professional manner and strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to protect privacy and PHI of patients and caregivers.
• Ability to work collaboratively with patients and fellow caregivers.

Responsibilities

• Greet and check-in/out patients and verify information in the EMR.
• Document all calls accurately in the EMR.
• Schedule appointments for visits, procedures, and referrals.
• Register patients by entering/updating demographic data and verifying IDs.
• Assist with insurance cards, pre-certifications, and authorization as needed.
• Educate patients on financial assistance and handle payments as required.
