Job summary

Hensel Phelps is seeking a Lead Quality Control Engineer to manage QC processes on projects nationwide. You will exercise judgment on QC recommendations, implement QC policies, and mentor other engineers on large multi-project assignments.

This is a safety-sensitive position and requires coordination between field and office teams. You will ensure compliance with contract documents, codes, and specifications, while driving continuous improvement through CIP initiatives and lessons learned.

Qualifications

• 4-year degree in civil/structural engineering, architecture or construction management.
• 3–5 years’ experience on large commercial construction projects.
• Strong written and verbal communication.
• Ability to interpret specifications, codes and drawings.

Responsibilities

• Review and update the project quality process log (QPL) and provide comments to the QC manager.
• Direct removal and replacement of non-conforming work and halt work not in compliance with the contract.
• Be fully aware of the contract, plans, specifications and applicable codes.
• Submit and review RFIs to ensure changes are implemented in the field.
• Coordinate daily test and inspection schedule based on trade partner test/inspection requests.
• Participate in work completion tagging, punch list processes, and document deficient items in the field.
• Audit trade partner QC procedures and participate in the quality recognition program.
• Actively participate in CIP and lessons learned; promote these programs.
• Perform safety and housekeeping inspections through the SAFE program.
