DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

The Temperature Control Division of Standard Motor Products has a Purchasing Assistant position open at our Lewisville, Texas location. *This is an on site position and does not qualify for sponsorship.

The role entails providing support to the purchasing department through comprehensive data analysis, effective contract management, and adherence to documentation standards. This position necessitates collaboration with multiple departments such as purchasing, product development, engineering, operations, and suppliers. The responsibilities include analyzing expenditures, facilitating new item setups, and assisting in negotiations and workshops.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

The analyst is responsible for maintaining supplier data, preparing reports, managing contracts, and ensuring compliance within ISO standards. This includes creating and maintaining purchasing master data in the ERP system and supporting future structure in trade agreements.

• Support purchasing to establish future structure in trade agreements, data, analysis of spending and strategy alignment
• Creating and maintaining structure in supplier classification, supplier capability overviews
• Responsible for maintaining ISO processes and ensure that all data is stored according to the standards agreed upon.
• Responsible for creating and maintaining purchasing master data in the ERP system, such as MOQ, order multiples, lead time, supplier prices, etc.
• Preparation and analysis of data for workshops, cost analysis, proposals, participate in negotiations, projects etc.
• Supporting function for other departments in regards of return shipments, samples, quotations, etc.
• Securing Product Approval from initial drawing request to final approved product (approx. +300 items per year)
• Excellent SQL, report writing, MS Excel and PowerPoint skills

REQUIREMENTS/EXPERIENCE:

Candidates need a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, SQL, mid to advanced proficiency in MS Excel, and knowledge of JD Edwards ERP/MRP systems. Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills are essential, along with the ability to handle multiple tasks.

Candidates will be required to take an MS Excel skills assessment.
