Job summary

The City of Birmingham is seeking an experienced Recruiting and Placement Partner to attract, identify, and recruit diverse, qualified candidates for a variety of positions across the organization.

You will develop strategies to expand applicant pools, build relationships with schools, workforce partners, and community groups, and manage posting, screening, and onboarding in collaboration with hiring managers.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license.
• Experience identifying and implementing a variety of recruitment methods to attract a diverse and qualified applicant pool.
• Experience using ATS/HRIS systems (WorkDay, ICIMS, PeopleAdmin, UKG, BambooHR, TALEO) to post jobs, screen applications, and manage hiring steps.
• Experience collaborating with community groups to establish and maintain partnerships.
• Experience maintaining communications with departments and individuals to support recruitment activities.

Responsibilities

• Schedule, document, and correspond using established procedures to ensure departmental operations.
• Assist in application screening and new hire orientation processes to ensure fair evaluation and onboarding.
• Represent the agency at career events to raise visibility and attract candidates.
• Explain pay, benefits, and employment terms to candidates to secure acceptance.
• Coordinate candidate selection activities and onboarding steps with HRIS systems.
• Develop recruitment strategy by building relationships with jurisdictions and using labor market data to attract qualified applicants.
• Promote opportunities via partnerships, marketing materials, and recruitment platforms to fill vacancies.
