Job summary

State of Michigan is seeking a Human Resources Generalist to join the Department of Military and Veterans Affairs (DMVA) Human Resources Office. The role involves all professional HR activities including job classification, staffing, labor relations, compensation and performance management across DMVA sites serving the Michigan National Guard and related agencies.

A hybrid work option is available after in-office training.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in any major.
• Experience in human resources is preferred.
• Strong communication and customer-service background.
• Ability to manage competing deadlines and collaborate with others.

Responsibilities

• Classify job duties, staffing vacant positions, and labor relations.
• Oversee compensation and performance management for DMVA worksites.
• Support Michigan National Guard, Michigan Veterans Affairs Agency and Michigan Veterans Homes.
