Job summary

Baker Tilly Advisory Group, LP is seeking a GAAP Compilation Senior Consultant for our Public Sector practice, serving state and local governments across the United States. This role oversees GAAP compilations, reporting, and related projects, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery.

You will lead and mentor staff, collaborate with client teams, and contribute to process improvements. Travel is limited, with opportunities for professional development and involvement in recruiting initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting.
• Master’s Degree or other advanced degree desired.
• CPA preferred.
• Minimum five (5) years of experience providing attest services in a professional services firm.
• Knowledge of U.S. GAAP, GAAS, and PCAOB Auditing Standards.
• Demonstrated skills in communication, public speaking, client service, relationship building, personal development, collaboration, and problem solving along with initiative and adaptability and proficiency in Microsoft Suite.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the day to day activities of U.S. GAAP compilations and reporting, agreed upon procedures, and special projects.
• Identify accounting, financial statement, and reporting issues, based on professional guidelines including U.S. GAAP.
• Provide recommendations for business and process improvements based upon knowledge of the client’s operations, processes, and objectives.
• Proactively build relationships and communicate effectively with the client to provide superior service.
• Supervise and lead staff through guidance and coaching.
• Evaluate performance on client engagements.
• Invest in professional development through training and networking.
• Assist with recruiting activities including campus recruiting and referrals.
• Demonstrate excellent team skills, positive attitude and high ethical standards.
