Job summary

Baker Tilly is seeking a GAAP Compilation Senior Consultant for our Public Sector group to serve the accounting needs of state and local governments across the United States. You will oversee GAAP compilations, reporting, and related procedures.

The role emphasizes client service, staff supervision, and professional development while maintaining high ethical standards. CPA is preferred and travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting; CPA preferred.
• Minimum three years of experience providing attest services in a professional services firm.
• Knowledge of U.S. GAAP, GAAS, and PCAOB Auditing Standards.
• Demonstrated skills in communication, public speaking, client service, relationship building, personal development, collaboration, problem solving, initiative and adaptability, plus Microsoft Suite proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day U.S. GAAP compilations and reporting, agreed-upon procedures, and special projects.
• Identify accounting, financial statement, and reporting issues per professional guidelines.
• Provide recommendations for business and process improvements based on client operations and objectives.
• Proactively build relationships and communicate effectively with clients to deliver superior service.
• Supervise and lead staff through coaching and evaluate performance on engagements.
• Invest in professional development through training and networking.
• Assist with recruiting activities including campus recruiting and referrals.
• Demonstrate excellent team skills, positive attitude and high ethical standards.
• Travel is limited but may be required.
