Job summary

The State of New Hampshire, Bureau Of Family Assistance, Conway District Office, is seeking a Human Services Specialist I-II to provide direct service and certify eligibility for public assistance programs. You will conduct holistic assessments and connect clients with services to promote economic stability and self-sufficiency.

Qualifications

• Associate degree and 2 years of experience OR equivalent combination of 4 years education and experience in customer service, social services, finance, case management or related field.
• Valid driver’s license or access to transportation.
• Willingness to travel up to 50 miles for temporary assignment or training; overtime may be required.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills; proficiency with standard computer tools.

Responsibilities

• Assess and certify eligibility for state and federal public assistance programs such as Medicaid, SNAP, TANF, Child Care, and related programs.
• Perform professional needs assessments and connect clients with internal and external resources to promote economic stability.
• Audit and analyze client records to ensure accurate, timely decisions; provide guidance and training as needed.
