Job summary

State of New Hampshire seeks a Human Services Specialist I-II in Keene to determine and certify eligibility for public assistance, using NH HEIGHTS and related systems. You will conduct interviews, assess needs, and coordinate with partners to help families reach stability.

The role covers complex case assessments across Medicaid, SNAP, TANF, and more, with emphasis on accurate data, cultural responsiveness, and customer service in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree and 2 years of experience OR equivalent combination of 4 years of education and experience after high school.
  • Ability to evaluate eligibility for multiple state and federal programs (Medicaid, SNAP, TANF, Child Care, etc.).
  • Strong interview and customer service skills; proficient in navigating multiple computer systems.

Responsibilities

  • Determine and certify eligibility for state and federal public assistance programs.
  • Conduct in-person or phone interviews with applicants and clients.
  • Review cases to ensure timely, accurate determinations and address barriers to economic mobility.
