Job summary

Knowledge Services in Columbus, Indiana is seeking an Eligibility Specialist to assist Indiana residents applying for public assistance (TANF, SNAP, Medicaid). You will gather data face-to-face or by phone and ensure information meets state policies.

Responsibilities include verifying documents, obtaining releases, reviewing program requirements, and entering data into the state system, with a Monday–Friday 8:00 AM–4:30 PM schedule and an $18.00 hourly wage.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Associate degree in Counseling or Social Services preferred, HS diploma required.
• 2 years’ experience in a social service environment preferred.
• 2 years’ experience as a Case Manager/Eligibility Specialist or related role encouraged to apply.
• Strong written and verbal skills; solid computer skills including Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Gather data for all relevant assistance programs with clients (in person or by phone).
• Verify information meets state policies.
• Obtain release forms and medical records as needed.
• Verify income, assets and other financial/legal documents.
• Review regulations and program requirements with clients.
• Use automated program to determine eligibility for state programs.
• Data entry into state database.
• Respond to inquiries by phone or email.
