Job summary

Knowledge Services, located in Elkhart, IN, is seeking an Eligibility Specialist to assist Indiana residents with TANF, SNAP, and Medicaid applications. You will verify data, obtain records, and determine eligibility using state systems in a client-facing role.

The position offers a Monday–Friday 8:00AM–4:30PM schedule, paid time off, benefits, and a wage of $18.00/hr. Prior case management and social services experience are valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Associate degree in Counseling or Social Services preferred; HS diploma required.
• Minimum 2 years in a social service environment; government experience desirable.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills are required.
• Reliable, independent self-starter with a professional customer service demeanor.

Responsibilities

• Gather data for all relevant assistance programs from clients in person or by phone.
• Verify information meets state policies and gather needed documents.
• Obtain release forms and medical records as needed.
• Verify income, assets, and other financial/legal documents.
• Explain program rules and eligibility requirements to clients.
• Use automated tools to determine eligibility for state programs.
• Enter data into state databases accurately.
• Respond to inquiries via phone or email in a timely manner.
