Job summary

Knowledge Services is seeking an Eligibility Specialist to help process Indiana public assistance applications (TANF, SNAP, Medicaid) from Hobart. You will verify information, collect documents, and determine eligibility using state systems. Typical schedule is Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM, with benefits and paid time off.

The role emphasizes strong customer service, accuracy, and collaboration with clients and team members to ensure timely processing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Associate in Counseling or Social Services preferred.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Experience in social services environment is desirable.
• Case management experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Gathers data for all relevant assistance programs via in-person or phone with clients.
• Verifies information meets state policies.
• Obtains release forms and medical records as needed.
• Verifies income, assets and other financial/legal documents.
• Reviews regulations and program requirements with clients.
• Uses automated system to determine eligibility of state programs.
• Data entry into state database.
• Responds to inquiries by phone or email.
