Job summary

Knowledge Services seeks an Eligibility Specialist in Bloomington, IN, to assist Indiana residents applying for TANF, SNAP and Medicaid. You will gather data for applications, verify documents, and determine eligibility using state systems. The role emphasizes accuracy, client interaction, and timely responses.

The position features a 37.5-hour work week (Mon-Fri, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM), with paid time off and benefits. Training is provided to develop skills in public assistance processing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Associate degree preferred; HS diploma accepted
• 2 years’ experience in a social service environment
• Solid computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office
• Knowledge of case management and eligibility processes

Responsibilities

• Gathers data for public assistance programs face-to-face or via phone
• Verifies information meets state policies
• Obtains release forms and medical records as needed
• Verifies income, assets and other documents
• Reviews regulations and program requirements with clients
• Uses automated system to determine eligibility
• Data entry into state database
• Responds to inquiries via phone or email
