State of Indiana is seeking a State Eligibility Consultant to ensure accuracy in benefits. You will review applications, determine eligibility for SNAP, TANF, and Medicaid, and correct data as needed. The role may involve supervising depending on agency needs.

This position emphasizes adherence to federal and state policies, data integrity, and effective communication with clients and staff, with a focus on continuous process improvement.

Qualifications

• Thorough knowledge of public assistance policy, practices, and procedures.
• Knowledge of federal, state, and local rules and regulations related to public assistance programs.
• Willingness to travel with reasonable accommodation.
• Ability to identify problems, evaluate alternatives, and implement effective solutions.

Responsibilities

• Review all eligibility recommendations and information provided by contract staff.
• Make an eligibility determination for appropriate benefits and waiver programs in compliance with state and federal rules, regulations, and guidelines.
• Examine data matches to find inconsistent and unreported data.
• Approve claims referred and calculated by the Contractor.
• Conduct full eligibility interviews for SNAP, TANF and Medicaid applicants.
• Keep current on all changes in rules, regulations, and guidelines regarding the individual benefit programs.
