The State of Indiana is hiring a State Eligibility Consultant to ensure accurate SNAP, Medicaid and TANF benefits. You will review applications, correct data, and authorize benefits while staying aligned with policy and regulations.

This role offers travel opportunities, a starting salary of $37,648 and a comprehensive benefits package. You’ll contribute to program integrity and peer coaching within the Division of Family Resources.

Qualifications

• Thorough knowledge of public assistance policy and practice.
• Ability to follow state and federal rules and guidelines.
• Strong interview and communication skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Review eligibility decisions and information provided by staff.
• Determine eligibility for SNAP, Medicaid and TANF in compliance with rules.
• Identify inconsistencies in data and correct case information.
• Approve contractor-calculated claims and conduct eligibility interviews.
• Keep current on changes in benefit program policies.
