Job summary

The Alaska Department of Health is seeking an Eligibility Technician 2 to join the statewide Public Assistance team. You will help Alaskan families access public assistance programs, reviewing financial and household information to determine eligibility and benefits.

In this role, you will handle sensitive applications, communicate clearly with clients, and work across offices to ensure timely processing. The position offers locations in Alaska with flexible, state-wide support.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of federal and/or state government or public assistance benefits required to evaluate eligibility and maintain case records.
• Ability to communicate with clients to assess needs and explain program requirements clearly.
• Experience using computers, databases, and automated systems to process applications and updates.

Responsibilities

• Determine program eligibility for Alaska residents and authorize benefits.
• Collect and review household information, medical, financial, and supporting documents.
• Maintain accurate case notes within required timelines.
• Collaborate with team to connect families to appropriate assistance programs.
