Job summary

Knowledge Services in Indianapolis is seeking an Eligibility Specialist to assist in processing applications for Indiana residents seeking public assistance.

The role involves data verification, document collection, income verification, and client communication by phone or email; wage is $18.00/hr with a 37.5-hour work week, Monday–Friday. Reasonable accommodations information available.

Qualifications

• Highly organized and analytical team player.
• 2 years’ experience in a social service environment is desired.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Solid computer skills with Microsoft Office proficiency.
• Basic math skills and data entry abilities.
• Independent, reliable, self-starter with customer service experience.
• Experience as Case Manager or Eligibility Specialist is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Gather data for assistance programs face-to-face or by phone.
• Verify information meets state policies and gather releases.
• Obtain medical records and verify income and assets.
• Explain regulations and program requirements to clients.
• Use automated tools to determine eligibility for programs.
• Enter data into the state database and respond to inquiries.
