Job summary

Knowledge Services, located in East Chicago, Indiana, seeks an Eligibility Specialist to assist in processing applications from Indiana residents for public assistance including TANF, SNAP, and Medicaid.

This role involves gathering data, verifying information, obtaining release forms and medical records, and entering data into the state database. It requires strong communication skills and attention to detail, with training provided and a pay rate of $18.00 per hour.

Qualifications

• 2 years’ experience in a social service environment is desired.
• Bachelor or Associate degree in Counseling or Social Services preferred; HR or Case Management experience is a plus.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills required.

Responsibilities

• Gathers data for all relevant assistance programs face-to-face or via phone.
• Verifies information meets state policies and obtains release forms and medical records as needed.
• Verifies income, assets, and other documents; explains regulations to clients.
• Performs data entry into the state database and responds to inquiries via phone or email.
