Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age with education and/or experience to meet required functional competencies.
• Preferred: High school diploma or GED.
• Post secondary education in medical field preferred.
• 2 to 5 years experience in a medical office including administrative support, scheduling, customer service, working knowledge of Microsoft Suite and electronic medical records.

Responsibilities

• Scheduling patient appointments, procedures, diagnostic tests, surgeries, hospital admissions and other related appointments between multiple providers.
• Administrative department support including reception, patient check-in and telephone coverage.
• Maintain and verify insurance information; process authorizations and manage insurance verification.
• Chart preparation and documentation in the electronic medical record; assist physicians with reimbursements/credentialing as needed.
