Job summary

HTG in New York state is looking for an Assistant Property Manager to support leasing, marketing, accounting, maintenance, resident relations, and reporting. The role ensures the property can operate in the Property Manager’s absence and collaborates closely with on-site staff and vendors.

The position requires at least 2 years of tax credit experience, sales or leasing background, and solid computer skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of tax credit experience.
• Sales and/or leasing experience.
• General office and accounting skills.
• Proficiency with computers.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Property Manager in supervising on-site staff.
• Work with the Property Manager to resolve property management issues.
• Supervise vendors to ensure compliance with service contracts.
• Recommend vendor contracts as appropriate.
• Assist with preparing operating and capital budgets and reconciliations.
• Assemble and implement approved budgets.
• Conduct routine property inspections.
• Ensure adherence to policies, codes, and regulations.
• Maintain building life safety and security systems.
• Review accounts payable for accuracy.
• Receive work orders and coordinate with maintenance or vendors.
• Schedule move-ins/move-outs and verify insurance.
• Maintain contact with corporate staff.
• Prepare monthly reports as needed.
• Support property management, accounting, marketing, and construction needs.
• Post resident and rent payments.
• Complete move-in/out and software-related duties.
• Perform other duties and projects as assigned.
