Job summary

Greystar is seeking a Service Technician in the Summerville area to perform technical and mechanical work ensuring building exteriors, interiors, and common areas meet Greystar’s standards for cleanliness, safety, and functionality. The role includes maintenance, make-ready tasks, and on-call rotations.

The position requires routine property inspections, compliance with OSHA guidelines, and strong attention to safety and quality.

Responsibilities

• Completes assigned work orders and preventative maintenance by diagnosing defects and repairing according to established policies, safety standards, and code requirements.
• Performs the make-ready process to prepare vacant apartment homes for leasing and move-ins by completing inspections, creating a punch list, coordinating vendors, obtaining supplies, and ensuring tasks are completed and inspected.
• Tracks materials, supplies, and equipment from the maintenance department, returns unused items, and notifies the supervisor when re-ordering is needed.
• Completes documentation and paperwork promptly to document and track service requests.
• Maintains grounds, common areas, and amenities by cleaning, painting curbs and signage, and assisting in upkeep.
• Supports cost control by fixing rather than replacing parts when possible and using tools and materials efficiently while following proper procedures.
• Attends safety meetings and completes required OSHA training; may inspect contractors' work for quality and adherence to standards.
